First Day of Sunday School 2012

The fist day of religious school, this year, is Sunday September 9th. Arrive between 8:45 and 9:00. We will meet in the Sanctuary, as usual. Dr. Joy Gray and Mrs. Pat Eisenberg will be at the RS registration table to sign you in and cheerfully accept your RS payments.

If you know any 11th or 12th graders interested in being madrichim (teachers’ aids), have them call the rabbi at (440) 473-5120.

Grades 6-10 will start the year with the mitzvah of “chesed shel emet” and clean Lansing Cemetery - dress appropriately for yard work. Bring work gloves and proper footwear. Parents, this is our 5th year, doing this mitzvah and showing respect for our Jewish ancestors. We need adults for carpooling and some light yard work. Please help us on the 9th.

Grades K-5 will stay at temple and make the outside of our building beautiful for the High Holy Days. They will do light yard work. If you would like to help us, your assistance will be much appreciated. If you take some good pictures, please email them to me.

Grades 6-10 will return from the cemetery, about 11:45 a.m. All of us will gather for a brief outdoor service… followed by s’mores. That’s right… s’mores.

We hope our two madrichim (teachers’ aids) return this fall. Pesach and Nette were great last year… and we hope to see them again. If you know 11th or 12th graders interested in being madrichim… have them come on Sunday. Or they can call the rabbi at (440) 473-5120.
