A Bat Mitzvah to Cherish

I am a resident of Council Gardens in Cleveland Heights. My daughter, Becca Pallant, became a Bat Mitzvah June 8, 2013, in Boston. Unfortunately, due to my medical condition I was unable to be with her. On Aug. 30, when my daughter came to visit me, Rabbi Matt Eisenberg from Temple Israel Ner Tamid in Mayfield Heights conducted a Bat Mitzvah ceremony for her in the Council Gardens community room. Additionally, Council Gardens sponsored a beautiful reception following the service.

The ceremony was part of the regular monthly Shabbat program Rabbi Eisenberg leads at Council Gardens, and was open to all residents. Many people in attendance had never seen a bat mitzvah. Everybody found the event very educational and enjoyable.

As the proud father, I will forever be thankful to Rabbi Eisenberg, the staff and volunteers at Council Gardens, and my beautiful all who made this wonderful event possible.
