Purim

It’s Time for Our Beatles PurimSpiel!

Celebrate Purim with Us: Friday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Our celebrations began with a reading from the Book of Esther. Many congregants participate, by dressing in costume and/or reading from the Book of Esther.

If the holiday (celebrated on the 14th of Adar) falls on a weekend, we usually have a carnival after services. If the holiday is on a weekday, as was the occasion this year, the carnival is during Sunday school.

This holiday is one of our most joyous of the year. Kids loved trying to drown out Haman’s name with their groggers. Everyone cheered and whistled for Mordecai and Esther.

Of course, delicious Hamantashen were served after the reading.
