Havdalah separates the holiness of Shabbat from the ordinary days of the week. We light Shabbat candles to bring in the holy time of Shabbat. We light and then extinguish the Havdalah candle to bid farewell to Shabbat and welcome in the new week. It is a brief service with delicious donuts!
